Hard Floor Cleaning

While hard floors are not as susceptible to dirt build-up as carpets are, they do still have layers of otherwise invisible dirt. After many years of being walked over, hard floors accumulate a layer of surface dirt that isn’t easily moved with traditional mopping methods and can make floors appear dull and matt.

Our hard floor cleaning service is suitable for a wide range of hard flooring and can be used in every home. Whether it’s made from vinyl (LVT) such as Amtico or Karndean, tiles, or stone, our hard floor cleaning experts can restore them to their former glory. .

Hard floor cleaning can be a very time consuming but a worthwhile process and you may even be surprised at the before and after results!

All movable items must be removed prior to the floor being cleaned. This includes tables and chairs.

Cleaning Luxury vinyl floorings (LVT) such as Amtico and Karndean

Step 1: Pre-Inspection

Our team first undertake a pre-inspection of the hard floors to be cleaned so that we can determine the most suitable technique required to clean it in accordance with the type or types of flooring.

Step  1: Pre-Clean

Firstly the floor is swept and mopped to remove any loose particles and soiling that may be sitting on the surface of the floor to ensure this doesn’t affect the later steps.

Step  2: Floor Stripper

Next, we apply floor stripper to a small area of the floor and leave it 10 minutes to get to work lifting dirt and grime and acting as a slight abrasive to remove ground-in particles.to break down the dirt and grime.

Step 3: Rotary Machine

The rotary machine is then used to scrub off the dirt and floor stripper, before we mop again with clean water. This section of the floor is then left to dry and we move on to a new section, repeating this process until the whole floor is complete.

Step 4: Polishing

When the whole floor has been stripped, cleaned, and dried, a layer of polish is applied horizontally and left to dry. A second layer is then applied vertically, protecting your flooring, and giving it a shiny finish.

It is recommended that the floor is not walked on for 5 - 6 hours - so make sure your kettle is accessible!

Step 2: Stone cleaner

Next, we apply a specific stone floor cleaning solution. The rotary machine is then used to scrub off the dirt, before mopping again with clean water.

Step 3: Sealer

Then if required, a stone floor sealer is applied to the floor.  It leaves a shiny surface and enhances the colour of the stone it is applied to. It is ideal for sealing and protecting interior terracotta, slate, York stone and many similar types of porous stone flooring.
